ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT FOR THE SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY AROUND INDUSTRIAL ESTATES: A CASE STUDY OF AMATA NAKORN

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to investigate the environmental management around Amata Nakorn industrial estate; to study factors of a sustainability of society; and to study the relationship between environmental management and a sustainability of society. This research employed mixed methods. In the quantitative term, the questionnaires were used for collecting data from 1,994 persons. The statistical analysis consisted of canonical correlation, and path analysis. This was followed by qualitative research carried out by interviewing 8 key informants, and content analysis. The study revealed that (1) the environmental management around the industrial estate focused on planning and implementation. Secondly, (2) creating good committee by promoting and developing basic needs in particular health, good environment conservation of water resource and air condition. And lastly, there was a high relationship between environmental and sustainable society.
