dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this research was to study the trends of strategic development of
Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin in the next decade. The study
divided the re s e a rc h into two parts : The first part was contextual study and re s e a r c h
documents. The second part was to study the possibility of the trends of the strategic
development by using Futures R e s e a r c h method with Ethnographic Delphi Futures
Research technique.
The research findings show that t h e t r e n d s o f s t r a t e g ic d e v e l o p m e n t o f
Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin for the next 10 years include
1 ) policy formulation, goal setting and organizational supervision. The policy formulation
must take the university’ s context, community and establishment into consideration,
correspond with the needs of its personnel and connect with related organizations.
The policy formulation must involve every stakeholder and must be able to translate
into goals through various channels to allow everyone to see the same big picture. Also,
there needs to be a performance evaluation by using a standard supervising and
monitoring process 2 ) the holistic student development and production. The university
must produce graduates to be well-rounded and moral having both professional and life
skills in order to be needed by the labor market. The students must be produced to be
competitive practitioners equipped with skills in language and innovative technology
3) Curriculum development. The curriculum must be developed by all university
stakeholders. Also, it should be diverse enough to meet the need of the learners e. g.
a course for elders, short certificate career course or an international one. Every curriculum
must have a clear goal to produce practical graduates 4) Research development and
creativity. The research should be focused on development for innovation, industry and
income generation. Also, there should be a focus on creativity because creative work is
individualized and , therefore, difficult to copy 5) Faculty and staff development. There
should be a framework and guideline for human resource development both for a short
term and long term to be connected with the university’ s strategic development plan.
That is, all personnel must develop themselves to be multi-tasking 6) Establishing
academic networks consists of university development network, personnel development
network, student development network, curriculum development network and
cooperation networks with domestic and international universities. 7 ) Good governance
requires effective policy, policy implementation and being good example for the society,
The management should employ information technology to achieve maximum
