    The development of product design from natural materials in Ban Sukkasem occupation group, Bang Len Sub-district, Bang Len District Nakhon Pathom Province

    Abstract
    The research aims to study the feasibility of product development design and develop products according to Thai Community Product Standards on the participation based and evaluating opinions on product designs. Designed and developed with mixed methods, collecting data from key informants from a purposive selective that is a member of the target group and product design experts and examples of general consumer groups from the accidental selection found with unstructured interviews, questionnaire, and evaluation form of product design and development. The design process consists of the 2D sketch, 3D Sketch, Art Work, Mock Up and Prototype. 1. Ban Sukkasem occupation group, Bang Len Sub-district, Bang Len District Nakhon Pathom Province use raw materials in the community. At present, can be made to orders immediately and reproduced in the same quantity and quality. The problem is found that, 1. During the rainy season, it cannot be produced because water hyacinth fibers are molded due to moisture. 2. The market is found that the group has a base with old customers and new customers but there is no regular order. 3. Simple packaging is traditional, there is a label but the details are not complete according to the standard. 4. There are many competitors in the market. 5. Current products are traditional local wisdom, the development of the product model has developed slightly from others, group concept idea, and customer recommendations. 6. Lack of promotion and information in new product models continuous and lack of presentation about the product local knowledge or local identity. 2. Design, develop and evaluate 5 types of products, including women's handbags, shoes, hats, bookmarks, and spa packaging. The overall evaluation results are rated at the highest level for all products. Most examples have the highest demand for shoes followed by women handbags, hats, spa packaging, and bookmarks. The factors that affect the purchase are products designed with novelty from the general products in the market followed by a variety of usage patterns, choose the appropriate composite material for use, beautiful patterns, and patterns in the needs of consumers, and demonstrates the uniqueness of handicrafts.
