Capability Building of Local Government in Road Fixing Management
Abstract
This research has the objectives of studying the administrative supervision of local government in road fixing management of Samut Prakarn Local administrative organizations, covering the capability of local governments in road fixing management; the relationship betwee.n the management and the capabilities of local government, and searching for capability model of local government in road fixing management.
This research adopts both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The populations in this research are officials involved in the operational management of the fixing of the roads. The quantitative research uses the samples of 1,042 and qualitative research of 12 people respectively. The studied areas are 49 local administrative organizations in Samut Prakarn Province.
The tools used in this study are questionnaires and interviews. Data have been
analyzed in terms of descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, canonical correlation and path analysis.
The research findings are local administrative organizations in Samut Prakaran province have successfully managed road fixing in terms of cost efficiency; Road fixing management has a high relationship with the capability of local governments in Samut Prakan province; Factor of successful administration road fixing are the focus on qualification of road fixing, procurement and monitor personnel.
