Community “Four Handle Jar pottery” was a major production of
earthenware steamer of Hourd to store a sugar in ancient times. The research team
has studied the information to develop and improve the fabrication process to be
quick and easy to produce by the elderly. The results of the study and analysis
revealed that the composition of stoneware clay and the earthenware clay from
“Four Handle Jar pottery” to prepare the slurry was a ratio of 1 to 9 mixed clay and
a specific gravity of 1.6-1.7 can be used in the process of hollow slip casting under
the use of 2 pieces plaster mold. Pottery with a local identity can be used the slip
casting method to save time and reduce the labour force because the group of
labour is older and also produce a lot. The experiment showed that sample was a
shrinkage of 12% after firing at 900 and ๑,๒๐๐ oC. The scores were at a high level of
4.๘0. The method of preparation slip was easy to understand and not complicated 4.
๗๕, neatness of plaster molds was average 4.๘๒, save time 4.6๗ , suitable for older
labor 4.87, maintain the local identity 4.๙๐, reduce damaged after firing 4.๕6, can be
produced in large numbers easier 4.๘๖, the hollow casting is as complete as the
method of throwing 4.๖๑, control thickness of sample 4.๘ 9. The participants can be
produced of hollow casting, reduce working time when compared with a throwing
that requires much force to do and time to practice skill. The hollow casting need to
learn how to prepare slip, demolding and decoration. From the firing of firewood
kiln, it remains the unique color of the ancient pottery, good dry condition, easy to
seam decoration and reduce damage after firing.

The study of “The Design and Development to make integrated Natural
materials bags” for OTOP in Angthong Province. aims to design and develop natural
materials for 4 OTOP groups in Angthong Province.; SonsinBangchaocha,
JaksanPaktopchawa Ban Bangtapan, Torpamadmee Nar Wat Bot and
SatriKrapaonangTambon Ban Hae.The develop and design continue from local
wisdom of each OTOP group to create identity and value added to reach the
customers need.
The research methodology used is select 4 OTOP groups in Angthong. After
each group got the product, it had been analyzed by 3 experts for pros and cons and
created 5 prototype bags for working women which had difference and novelty. The
step by step of doing this is in picture and caption. The prototype products are used
to transfer knowledge to the OTOP groups in materials mixing, design and production.
The research instruments included materials mixing, usage, beauty and
satisfaction..Theresearch in struments are questionnaires for both producers and users
in materials mixing, usage, beauty and satisfaction. The statistics used are percentage,
mean, standard deviation and t-test.
The research findings suggest that the producers and users consider all aspects
at high level. There is 0.5 statistical significant different in all aspects. OTOP groups in
Angthong acquire knowledge and skill in materials mixing, design, and production to
create natural materials products.

The study of alternative materials of Soapstone
Surat Boonthrong; Suwit Vidhyachak
The purpose of this research is to study the alternative materials which can
be used instead of Soapstone, by using technology in carving other materials. Starting
with the process of creating 3 dimensions files of Thai Art Pattern in order to build a
mold set for carving on 3 materials; Acrylic, Brass and Iron. In carving process, the
CNC (Computer Numerical Control) is used for creating the molds. In decorating
process, materials for Khon Mask and Sirapon are to be pressed inside the molds to
create patterns and to test if the materials can be used instead of Soapstones, which
are currently rare, also to find out if they can fit in right dimensions and meet the
needs of Thai artisans.
The experiment is performed by the experts. Three kinds of mold are tested.
The results are discussed under the topic of quality of the molds. Some control
group tested with the Acrylic mold. Questionnaires on the workshop day provided us
data and details in conclusion that related to the satisfaction from the result.
The result illustrated that the CNC can provide standard quality molds of 3
materials. The Acrylic mold is said to be the best material among 3. The reasons are
the lower cost, the easier and quicker with more convenient of the use, and the
same quality compared to Soapstones. The average of satisfaction is 4.49 or 89.77 %.
