<title>Analysis of the establishment and collapse of celebrity personalities from the perspective of encoding and decoding</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/1440</link>
<description>Analysis of the establishment and collapse of celebrity personalities from the perspective of encoding and decoding
Yingcui Luo; Qi Yao
In recent years, the phenomenon of "personality collapse" of celebrities has appeared many &#13;
times and attracted the attention of the public. Celebrities in the entertainment industry already&#13;
have a set of patterns, and celebrities in the production business perspective are now mostly&#13;
"standardized". Celebrities have become as wholesale and uniform as commodities. This article&#13;
observes the establishment and collapse of celebrity personalities from the perspective of&#13;
encoding and decoding. This article first analyzes the status quo of celebrity character design&#13;
and the active participation of fans in celebrity character design. In addition, this article also&#13;
studies the different interpretations of fans after the collapse of celebrity personalities. By&#13;
exploring the mode of shaping celebrity characters, this paper puts forward suggestions on the&#13;
defects in the process of shaping celebrity characters. For celebrities, they should strive to build&#13;
a differentiated personality, recognize their positioning, and find their strengths. For fans, they&#13;
should remain calm and rational, and constantly improve their media literacy. The contribution&#13;
of this paper is that this research understands the influence of popular culture on fans' lifestyles&#13;
and social development, and has a certain breakthrough in the existing research on fan cultural&#13;
behavior. In addition, on the premise of learning from Western fan culture theory, this paper&#13;
expands the scope of application of traditional theories and conducts more localized and&#13;
targeted research.

The globalization of higher education has become an unavoidable tendency of higher &#13;
education development in today's society. The advancement of information technology has&#13;
generated a new model of learning that transcends time and location, and the methods and&#13;
channels for acquiring knowledge have fundamentally changed. Many countries urge residents&#13;
to continue their education throughout their lives to keep their knowledge current and adapt to&#13;
changing circumstances. Accordingly, the number of adult lifelong learners has substantially&#13;
increased. MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course) are still in their early stages of developing&#13;
into mainstream of online education, with many areas needing improvement. It is simply too&#13;
early to predict if MOOCs will revolutionize higher education. &#13;
This study investigates and analyzes college students' appraisal and satisfaction with&#13;
MOOCs using a questionnaire-based survey. Results reveal that students' overall satisfaction&#13;
with the MOOC arranged in practical courses is relatively high.

<title>Etymological Method for Teaching Chinese as a Second Language</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/1438</link>
<description>Etymological Method for Teaching Chinese as a Second Language
Songyu Jiang; Yangyang Zhao
Morpheme, context, and network teaching methods are more practical for Chinese &#13;
vocabulary teaching. These teaching methods interpret and summarize vocabulary at the&#13;
synchronic level and rarely involve the diachronic perspective. Based on the findings of&#13;
etymological research, this academic paper argues that the etymological teaching method&#13;
should be the standard for teaching vocabulary when teaching Chinese as a foreign language.&#13;
This method overcomes the limitations of traditional methods. It is a progressive method and&#13;
is based on synchronic research and interprets Chinese vocabulary from the diachronic level. &#13;
In addition, using etymological knowledge, teachers can also teach the evolutionary track of&#13;
Chinese vocabulary. Learners of Chinese, thus, will become aware of the systematic&#13;
characteristics of Chinese vocabulary, and will increase their motivation and interest level.&#13;
From the perspective of teaching Chinese as a second language, it is important to use a method&#13;
which will help international students understand and remember Chinese vocabulary more&#13;
easily. In this academic paper, the authors summarize relevant research which identifies&#13;
shortcomings of various vocabulary teaching methods and propose methods which may&#13;
improve the teaching methods.

This study is quantitative research which has an objective to study participation level, &#13;
and a comparison between individual factors that have influence on this participation in the&#13;
management of natural resources and environment in Don Ruak Subdistrict, Don Tum district,&#13;
Nakhon Pathom province. Population and sample group are citizens aged 20 years old and more&#13;
who reside in this settlement. In this method, 400 samples are randomly collected through&#13;
various phases by using questionnaire as research tool. Additionally, data collection, direct&#13;
interview with respondents, and data analysis that uses descriptive statistics such as frequency&#13;
distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and inferential statistics (t-test and F-test)&#13;
are applied in the research methods. The result of this study suggests that participation in the&#13;
management of natural resources and environment in Don Ruak Subdistrict brings about an&#13;
overall score for the medium range of income. The highest participation is implementation, the&#13;
lesser extent is benefit gaining, follow up and evaluation, search for cause and problem, as well&#13;
as planning and decision-making, respectively. For a comparison on individual factors that&#13;
reflects participation in the management of natural resources and environment in different areas&#13;
of this suggest difference in their assessment. Notably resources and environment in Don Ruak&#13;
Subdistrict, Don Tum District, Nakhon Pathom Province, different education and monthly&#13;
income levels both neutrally affect the participation of the management of natural resources&#13;
and environment.
